Meanwhile, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations handled 598 emergency reports across the area, mostly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.
